Weekly cost = rent + one full loan instalment. It excludes food, fuel, transport and other spending; rent and loan have separate collection schedules.

When LAPO repayments are collected

  • Loan instalments are ₦12,000 every seven days, from 10:00 on the in-game Lagos clock.
  • Rent is collected Saturday from 09:00 — keep both ready before the weekend.
  • If you miss an instalment, the late penalty is 10% of that missed payment (normally ₦1,200), not 10% of the whole loan.
Plan around your balance. Starting cash is a one-time sum. Set aside rent and the loan payment you actually owe, then budget food, travel and upgrades from what remains.

Which start is best?

Easiest first week

Nepo Baby

₦500,000, no rent or loan, and a level-3 Branch Manager job in Lagos. But you learn skills at the normal rate — the head start fades if you coast.

Long-game advantage

LAPO Baby

Starts with Hustle 2 and a 25% skill-learning bonus, but owes ₦72,000. Skills unlock promotions, so the gap closes faster than you’d think.

Cheapest bills

UNILAG Fresher

₦14,000, no debt, ₦1,200 rent and a ₦3,000 Monday allowance — the hardest open, but the cheapest weekly bills and the same 25% learning bonus.

Frequently asked questions

How much cash does a regular LAPO start get?

The home base balance plus the ₦60,000 loan gives ₦76,000 or ₦96,000 depending on the chosen home. The total loan owed is ₦72,000.

Does the UNILAG student start get the LAPO loan?

No. The student package starts with ₦14,000 and no LAPO debt, plus a ₦3,000 Monday allowance and first-session fees already paid.

Can you reroll Nepo or LAPO with a new life?

No. The birth lottery is once per account, and starting a new life does not reroll the result.

What is the late penalty on a missed LAPO instalment?

10% of that missed payment — normally ₦1,200 on a full ₦12,000 instalment. It is not 10% of the whole outstanding loan.
